Will be revealed at GamesCom. We're still over a month away from GamesCom, Germany's annual games showcase, but good old Geoff Keighley can't help himself . The Dorito Pope himself, along with publisher Private Division, has revealed a short teaser for a brand new IP called Disintegration . Watch it for yourself above. The game is due to be fully unveiled during the Cologne based event, but we know a couple of small details worth sharing. Disintegration is a sci-fi first person shooter, and it's the debut project from developer V1 Interactive. This studio is headed up by Marcus Lehto, co-creator of one of Microsoft's flagship exclusives, Halo. While that might sound like a promising pitch, all we really have to go on are a few shots of a cool looking ship, so let's not get carried away. Read the full article on pushsquare.com ...

The dust is only starting to settle following E3 last month and now the industry already has its eyes on GamesCom 2019. One of the first games teased for a big reveal in Cologne this year is Disintegration, a sci-fi shooter from new studio V1 Interactive . The studio’s debut game will be getting a proper showing on August 19th during GamesCom’s opening night. For V1 Interactive, this is Seattle-based studio’s debut title and is scheduled to release in 2020. It is being published by Private Division the recently-formed label owned by Take-Two Interactive (2K Games, Rockstar). The team at V1 is comprised of video game industry veterans and was co-founded by some of the creator behind SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs, as well as the king of sci-fi shooters, Halo. Here’s what president, Marcus Lehto, said about today’s announcement: “The opportunity to create not only a new game, but this entire studio has been exhilarating. It is great to be able to share what this amazing team has been working on, and we can’t wait to introduce this new game that our team is building to the world next month.” Right now there really isn’t much to go on apart from that teaser trailer which in itself gives very little away. The thirty second video gives us a close up look of what appears to be a spaceship or drone prepped for battle. While it looks to be human manufactured, we’ve got no details about the game’s plot or setting as of yet. With Disintegration be ...

The writing was on the wall. Beam yourself back to last year’s Man of Medan GamesCom announcement and developer Supermassive Games was already rolling with the tagline “Don’t play alone”. At the time we thought nothing of it, they were just three words of your typical marketing guff, highlighting how horror games have become more of a social experience despite traditionally being played alone in a dark room. This has typically been my approach. There’s somewhat of a purity to it, being able to soak in the atmosphere and allowing yourself to get caught by jump scares without a running commentary from friends. However, when I recently replayed Until Dawn , it was very much a shared journey where everyone’s decisions and subsequent reactions only layered on top of what is already one of the best games available on PlayStation 4. In a way, horror games are starting to overlap with their movie counterparts, Supermassive being at the very forefront of this trend. You see, while Man of Medan can be enjoyed solo, this first instalment of The Dark Pictures Anthology series also features a suite of multiplayer options that genuinely took us by surprise. There are essentially three ways to play Man of Medan: on your own, in an online pair, or as part of a larger group gathered around one screen in “Movie Night” mode. Using one controller, you and up to four friends can each choose a character, passing the gamepad at intervals. Sadly, we di ...

Disintegration was revealed today as a title that will be revealed during GamesCom 2019, from V1 Interactive, which is a studio co-founded by Marcus Lehto. Marcus Lehto is the former creative director at Bungie and the co-creator of Halo. Disintegration will be available in 2020’s calendar year, during Take-Two’s fiscal year 2021 (April 1st, 2020 through March 31st, 2021). Keep your eyes here for more information as it develops. Disintegration will be a sci-fi first-person shooter, though, so it should be right in Lehto’s wheelhouse. “The opportunity to create not only a new game, but this entire studio has been exhilarating,” said Marcus Lehto, President and Game Director at V1 Interactive. “It is great to be able to share what this amazing team has been working on, and we can’t wait to introduce this new game that our team is building to the world next month.” “We’re lucky enough to work with someone like Marcus, a gaming icon whose creativity has influenced an entire industry,” said Michael Worosz, Executive Vice President and Head of Private Division. “We’ve been with Marcus and the V1 Interactive team since the studio’s inception and have seen the organization grow its talent base throughout our partnership. As such, we have high confidence in Disintegration, and cannot wait to introduce it as another unique experience that further enhances the Private Division lineup.” ...

Previously announced at GamesCom 2018, The Dark Pictures Anthology series has captured a lot of attention and intrigue from the gaming media for their mysterious and creepy atmosphere and thrilling scares. As well as an overlap between Remedy's audience and Supermassive's following their previous launch, Until Dawn , the British developer's latest adventure also stars Quantum Break actor, Shawn Ashmore, in their first episode (Man of Medan) an additional treat for fans of both studios. In Supermassive's new video series exploring the characters in Man of Medan , we get a look into Shawn's character, Conrad, in a new two-part interview. Check them out below: In the first episode, we learn more about Conrad's personality. He's a slight deviation from the actor's usual roles as Shawn describes that many fans will be "taken aback" by the character's brashness. However, depending on the player's choices, the actions that we make moulds his character potentially turning him into a hero or exposing his selfish side. The interview also touches on what Shawn is most excited about with the game, his favourite character, and the setting; the latter he fondly describes as "lush" and "beautiful" location but with the potential of revealing a "horrific grimness" where it ends up. In the second episode, we learn more about the psychological element of Man of Medan , and the horror stories that the studio was inspired by including the legend ...
