Baseball America's Josh Norris: Yankee May Have 10 Top-100 Prospects

Last week, Baseball America's podcast the top Yankee prospects . If you're looking to feel good about the future of the Yankees, it's worth listening to in full. Here are my takeaways: Ten top-100 prospects: Josh Norris might rank ten Yankees in the top-100. The others agreed that at least the top eight Yankee prospects are top-100-worthy, with Dustin Fowler and Domingo Acevedo in the top-150. This was before the Yankees acquired Abreu from the Astros for Brian McCann.  Gleyber Torres top-5 or top-10: Everyone had great things to say about Gleyber Torres, youngest ever AzFL MVP . Norris compared his toolset to Javier Baez, noting how easily he adjusted when asked to play a few games at second base in Arizona. It sounds like he will definitely end up in the top-10 in all of Baseball on their list, and possibly top-5. Huge depth:  The Yankees may have the deepest top-30 in Baseball. Norris said there are about 50 legitimate top-30 type prospects in the systems. Players like Estevan Florial, who grades out at 70 arm/power/speed, might be somewhere in the late-teens or low-20s; in good farm systems, they would sit at 8-10. They are deep both in the high minors, with players like Tyler Wade, Jordan Montgomery, Dietrich Enns, and Kyle Higashioka, and lower down.
