Coventry City could be taken over by an Australian consortium, according to reports in Australia. According to The Herald Sun , an Australian consortium are keen on taking over a club in England and have identified six targets. Among the targets are two clubs with serious ownership problems: Coventry City and Charlton Athletic. Coventry City have been owned by hedge fund SISU for the past nine years and have staged various protests, especially in more recent years, as they face a future without the Ricoh Arena and they continue to spiral downwards to the fourth division. Charlton Athletic have had problems with Belgian owner Roland Duchatelet and they recently staged a pitch invasion in protest. Apparently this Australian consortium, headed by Gerard Murphy, is carrying out a feasibility check on Coventry City. Coventry and Charlton fans – would you like to see this Australian consortium?
