The concussion crisis isn't going anywhere for the NFL. As the science grows, so do the sad stories of former players dealing with issues. But right when you think Football may be in some trouble long term, you meet someone like Corey Knox. The former JFK and UB fullback stood outside The Ralph in a January blizzard, hoping for a workout. Now he says he might just show up at St. John Fisher College. Here's that story on Corey Knox in Sunday. Below, former head coach Herm Edwards offers his take on the game today and where it's heading. On Football's future: “Look, there’s always going to be guys who don’t play as long. The type of money these guys make, they don’t have to play their whole career. They don’t have to play 10-15 years. They can play 6, 7 years and if they’re really good they make enough money to say ‘I don’t need to do it.’ Back when I played, guys had to play. Now, guys make enough money. “I always think there will be a nucleus of players. And in the end, college is our farm league. When you think about all the guys who play college Football and only 250 some get drafted. Out of those, about 150 make it. It’s a hard league to play in. If you have a talent and you’re a Football player, you want to exhaust your talent. Ninety percent of the guys feel that way.
