Security beefed up at courthouse following aborted hit

Just minutes after the troopers arrived along with the state’s top judge, a huge fight broke started outside another courthouse blocks away. Two feuding families went at each other with Baseball bats and wrenches at the Main Street Courthouse bringing state, local police and judicial marshals to break up that fight. The trouble only increased the tension among court employees who are already concerned that this week’s layoff of six marshals at the Golden Hill and Main Street courthouses due to budget cuts will leave them unprotected. Because the courts and state police are under separate branches of government, the troopers are assigned to the court are paid on an overtime basis, Gaetano said. Chaz Dear, 18, of Mountain Grove, was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics and violating the term of his release on pending assault, drug and weapons charges. ...
