ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)- Lobo Men’s Basketball is optimistic about their upcoming season. They were picked 3 rd in the MW preseason poll, two spots better than last year. The past two years haven’t been up to the Lobo Basketball standard and the fan attendance has shown, but that has been the case across the board for UNM athletics. “Hopefully the fans get as excited as we are about this season, and because I think having the Pit, that’s all I heard about before I came here. You know the crazy fans how loud it gets,” said UNM Forward Tim Williams. “I know that they are used to a certain thing out here and the last two years haven’t really been up to that standard, but this year I don’t have any intention on it being the same. I feel like we can get back to what Lobo Basketball is”, said UNM Guard Elijah Brown. The annual Lobo Howl was a success for both the Men’s and Women’s programs on Friday night, but the attendance wasn’t as good as years past. Coach Craig Neal believes in this year’s team and he hopes the fans do as well. “I think that we are going to have as entertaining of a team as we have had in a long long time. But then again we got to get the students back out, you know our diehard fans they have to rally around this team. So, that they can help us reach our goals and they are an important part of it”, said UNM Head Basketball Coach Craig Neal. Filed under: New Mexico , Sports , Top Video ...
