The Dallas Cowboys entered the 2016 season, and 2015 for that matter, with the best offensive line in the NFL. While an argument could be made that one or two other teams in the league were a close second, Dallas had a stellar unit. While that fact shouldn’t change in 2017, the Cowboys do have a question or two along their offensive line, which is a big change from recent years. With the 2017 season drawing closer, the Cowboys actually have to figure out what they’re going to do with one open position on their line. They have four of the five spots currently locked in with top-tier talent, or at least players who have shown flashes of brilliance. Tyron Smith is arguably the best tackle in the NFL, while guard Zack Martin is the anchor along the line. And, finally, center Travis Frederick has added a level of consistency in the middle that’s tough to find in the NFL. Best of all? All three players are only 26 years old. Then comes the fun and somewhat tough part to figure out. Third-year pro La’el Collins is only 23 years old and was a likely first-round pick before an off-field concern (that was eventually cleared up) made him an undrafted free agent. In turn, the Cowboys snatched him up and built an epically amazing offensive line. While it all looks great on paper, there are a few issues for the Cowboys to deal with.
