Former NFL star O.J. Simpson could be released from prison as early as October, according to the chief deputy public defender in Clark County, Nevada. Simpson, 69, is serving a 33-year prison sentence for the robbery of a Las Vegas hotel in 2007. He was denied parole in 2013, but now, because of a points system based on age, gender and behavior, he is expected to be released on parole. CBS Los Angeles reported that Simpson has been granted a July parole board hearing, although the exact date has not been set. If parole is denied, he will have to wait until 2022 for another opportunity. He would be 75 years old by that time. He is being held at the Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada. Steven Yeager stated last week , “Typically, when the parole board is making that determination, they are looking at the inmate’s history in the institution, the disciplinary history. They also look at the age of the inmate and one of the things we always talk about in the criminal justice system is the older you get, the less likely you are to continue committing crimes.” The post Report: O.J.
