The first-year Oklahoma State coach explained that every game, not just the ones against the elite teams in the league, were going to be hard, but all of them would be that way. OSU knew what to expect in West Virginia, but it was overwhelmed from the start, and the Cowboys were soundly beaten 92-75 Friday afternoon in front of a sold-out Gallagher-Iba Arena. It was the first time the Cowboys failed to score at least 92 points since a 71-67 win at Tulsa on Dec. 10. The Cowboys (10-3, 0-1 Big 12) only held a lead for 17 seconds when forward Lucas N’Guessan opened the scoring for the game on a dunk a little more than 90 seconds after the opening tip. From there, the veteran West Virginia bunch conquered OSU in almost every aspect, making the game a frenetic, physical one and jumping to 19-7 lead to quiet what was a spirited crowd early.
