Dean Pees may have been the least talked about coach in Baltimore since the end of the season. It is fairly obvious why, right? The biggest headline of the Baltimore Ravens 2017 offseason so far has been keeping Marty Mornhinweg as their offensive coordinator. The news to keep Marty overshadowed another big issue. Dean Pees is sneaking under the radar after multiple late game collapses this season. This may seem crazy after having a top-tier defense all year but he could be hurting Baltimore. What does the “prevent” defense that Pees deploys when the Ravens are winning late in the game accomplish? It prevents the Ravens from stopping their opponent. The latest edition of this “prevent” defense was the fourth quarter collapse in Week 16 against the Steelers . His numbers as the defensive coordinator for the Ravens are great, but is it all smoke and mirrors? The answer is for yes. I am not calling for his job, but begging for a change in scheme. For three quarters the defense is lights out and then it happens. The defense goes into this soft zone and they blow the lead. The Patriots and Falcons have two major things in common that helped them reach the Super Bowl . They are tied for first as the teams with the least amount of turnovers and they hold onto leads in the fourth quarter. Only twice this season have the Atlanta Falcons blown a fourth quarter lead. The New England Patriots have blown only one fourth quarter lead all seaso
