BELDING — Belding’s Baseball team is going into spring break with a good feeling. Belding won all three of the games they played in the past two days, including both games against Kent City on Tuesday by scores of 5-1 and 10-0 in five innings. Belding’s Dylan McMaster fouls off a pitch during the team’s game against Kent City Tuesday. “Obviously that’s the goal going into spring break,” Belding coach Dave Riches said. “It’s certainly a good feeling going into it.” Belding opened the scoring in the first game with an RBI single from Nolan Beck in the bottom of the first inning, only to see the Eagles get an RBI single from Tyler Fisk in the top of the second. “We came out very flat in my opinion,” Riches said. “We didn’t come out with the urgency to get at it. (Monday’s) game we had two hard throwers. When we went through (the batting order against Kent City) the second time we were able to get base hits. They booted the ball and we were able to take advantage of that.” Belding pitcher Brandon Moon shut down Kent City until he came out with one out in the sixth inning. Moon got the win, allowing three hits to three different batters and four walks, striking out seven. Tyler Collins came in and struck out two of the four batters he faced. He induced an inning-ending double play when he came in, then allowed only a hit batter in the seventh. Dylan McMaster was 2-for-3 with that first run scored and an RBI. Beck was 2-for-4 with a r ...
