Cardinals sign Trevor Knight and Ricky Seals-Jones as UDFAs

The Arizona Cardinals signed Texas A&M quarterback Trevor Knight and wide receiver Ricky Seals-Jones as undrafted free agents following the final round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Knight’s collegiate tenure originally began at Oklahoma, where he was handed the reins as a freshman in 2013. His signature moment came in 2014, when he led the Sooners to a 45-31 win over Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Sugar Bowl. After graduating in 2015, he took his talents to College Station, where earned the starting job. Knight won his first game, a 31-24 overtime win against UCLA. The quarterback topped out with a 35 1/2-inch vertical and 125-inch broad jump at the NFL Combine. Seals-Jones was thought to be the next big thing at Texas A&M after being tagged a five-star player and No. 25 prospect out of the 2013 class, to no avail. His true freshman season was put on hold as he needed a red-shirt due to injury after appearing in only two games. He was gutting it out through a leg injury this past season and posted 333 yards on 26 catches. Between Seals-Jones and Speedy Noil, there was a lot of “what could have been” in the Aggies receiving corps. Arizona was thought to be linked to a quarterback this year with names such as DeShone Kizer and Davis Webb as potential candidates.
