Tigers Defeat AAMU 14-2 in Game Two of the Series

Schedule Statistics Roster Coaches News Related Link: Box Score HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Jackson State Baseball team improved its overall record to 21-11 and 8-3 in conference in its 14-2 victory over Alabama A&M Saturday afternoon. The Tigers maintain the best overall record in the Southwestern Athletic Conference and tie for the second-best conference record. Jordan Bolden, senior right-hand pitcher, receives the win on the mound to rank first in the conference in pitching wins. The Madison, Miss. native pitched 7.0 innings for seven hits allowed, two earned runs, one walk, and six strikeouts. Mark Watson entered to the game in relief to pitch 1.0 innings for one hit allowed, no runs, one walks, and two strike outs. At the plate, Bryce Brown, junior outfielder, went 3-for-4 at the plate to collect three runs, and two runners batted in. Jesus Santana and Sam Campbell also grabbed two RBIs to aid in the Tiger offensive efforts. Campbell was also credited with three hits and led the Tiger defense with nine putouts. JSU ends Saturday’s competition with 14 runs, 14 hits, and two errors while holding AAMU to two runs, eight hits, and six errors. The Tigers will be back in action on Sunday, April 2 when the take on the Bulldogs in the third and final game of the series. JSU looks to complete the sweep with an 1 p.m. start time. ...
