The Seattle Seahawks are not prepared to sign former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick just yet. According to a Tuesday morning report from Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, “nothing is imminent” between the two sides after the free-agent signal caller recently visited Seattle . However, Rapoport added that the “ interest is real, but nothing yet .” The 29-year-old Kaepernick has notably spent his entire six-year NFL career as a member of the 49ers as it stands today. Originally selected by the franchise in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of Nevada, he has since become an unrestricted free agent while having a tremendous amount of trouble finding his next NFL home. “I am told if the Seahawks are going to sign Colin Kaepernick it is not going to be right now,” said Rapoport on NFL Network’s Total Access . While with the 49ers, Kaepernick even made an appearance in the Super Bowl back in 2012-2013. Even so, because of his recent stances regarding both political and social issues, it appears as though NFL franchises have been staying away from his presence due to the potential backlash that it may cause. Nonetheless, the Seahawks did bring Kaepernick in for a visit with the team alongside several other signal callers. Although the two sides had been linked to one another due to the off-the-field trouble of Seahawks backup quarterback Trevone Boykin, Kaepernick remains a free agent with June just around the corner. ...
