Clean Water Action, along with others, released a statement concerning Governor Hogan’s planned highway expansion. Highway expansion is not the answer to persistent rush hour congestion, this is not an efficient use of our resources - land or financial - and have detrimental impacts on our environment and resilience, increasing greenhouse gases, destroying habitats, and removing pervious land. Coal Free Waters. With a coalition of other groups, in September we urged the Maryland Department of the Environment to require Maryland coal plants to minimize their toxic discharge . Almost 200 Clean Water Action members submitted comments to the MDE - thank you! Baltimore City Lead Testing. We are in the middle of a study of 200 homes in Baltimore City and County to test for lead contamination in drinking water.
