Jay-Z Wants no Parts in the Roc Nation Lawsuit

Words by Megan Ambers Back in May, Jay-Z and his company Roc Nation were hit with a lawsuit for using the brand’s logo on a collective of Major League Baseball (MLB) hats. It was reported that Iconix Brand Group purchased the rights to the logo usage for $204 million dollars from Jay some time ago. Iconix Brand Group is said to be suing Jay, Roc Nation, New Era , LIDS , and the San Francisco Giants for $10 Million each. According to TMZ, Hov is looking to be left out of the lawsuit altogether. Jay is arguing that Roc Nation and himself are two separate parties, and that Iconix is beefing with Roc Nation and not himself. The Brooklyn-born Mogul also says that he had no say in the decision to use the logo for the hats, and Iconix can’t prove otherwise. In other Jigga-related news, Jay-Z has embarked on his 4:44 tour, starting at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on Friday. During the 90 minutes, Jay performed most of his hits from his decades-long catalog: “Heart of the City,” “IZZO (H.O.V.A), “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” and more. The tour is scheduled to hit all the major cities including, Miami, Atlanta, New York and Chicago before concluding in Los Angeles on December 21.
