We split our two Baseball games last time out, so we’ll see what happens with the two games today, which will take a bit of a backseat to the NFL, especially among sports bettors. Houston at Boston: Both bullpens have been pretty busy this series and these two starters are likely to add to that, as Peacock averages 5 1/3 innings per start and Fister checks in with a 5 2/3 innings per start average. It’s unlikely both reach their averages today, so we’ll probably see the relievers on the mound for a bit. Peacock was more effective in his time on the mound, which is why Houston is -137 and the total is 9.5-over (-120). The surprising thing about Fister is despite his horrible numbers, he was actually a pretty good under pitcher during the season, going 4-9, including 1-6 at home even with a 5.37 ERA. The Red Sox were 8-7 in his starts, but just 3-6 at Fenway. The Astros were 15-6 when Peacock started and 9-3 on the road, where he had a 3.05 ERA. The Astros were a higher-scoring team on the road and in day games, so they look to have all the edges, but playoff teams who scored eight or more runs in their past two games are just 4-13 straight-up and 0-4 when favored, so will go against the grain and grab the Red Sox +127.
