Replication before application: Galaxy S9 may come with a Face ID module of its own

Galaxy S9 is shaping up to be a fine under-the-hood upgrade over its predecessor the S8, with a new 7nm Snapdragon 845 or Exynos 9810 processor, and perhaps a dual camera, but, as Apple likes to put it, there is one more thing. A tech blog out of the wild east that usually has credible scoops, is now confirming the vague supply chain rumors that Galaxy S9 will come with "3D sensor front camera." The only one such undertaking we can think of is Face ID on the iPhone X, so Samsung might be eyeing a similar depth-sensing kit for the Galaxy S9, in a me-too kind of move.  Samsung's ... ...
