A standoff with Knoxville police ended peacefully Saturday night on Cadbury Road. It was just after 7:15 p.m., officers responded to a male shooting out Windows of a relatives house. They’d also received reports that the suspect had assaulted a woman. Officials say 26-year-old William Edward Childress fired a round out the window when officers arrived. They set up a perimeter and tried to make contact. After several attempts they used a distraction device, that led to his surrender. Childress was arrested and charged with one count of Domestic Assault, more charges are pending. ...
