What: Minnetonka Orchards in Minnetrista Rating: 8 Non-Quantifiable Rating: Too sweet for words. My grandparents owned an Apple orchard for more than 50 years, so I have a major soft spot for Apple orchards, but I've only visited an orchard once in the last decade. "Visiting an Apple orchard" is one of those things that sounds like a sweet fall activity with little kids but often turns into a disaster in reality. This was a spontaneous trip. I randomly picked Minnetonka Orchards off the internet. I went in with very low expectations and I was blown away. This place is cuter than a basket full of baby otters. There are so many activities for little kids, we couldn't even do it all. They have a big ol' haystack, a corn maze, multiple playgrounds, tractor hay rides, a mini train pulled by a tractor, face painting, ridiculously good Apple cider donuts, coffee, cider, brats, live music, and even a petting zoo. Oh, and apples. Lots of apples. You can pick your own or you can buy pre-picked bags of apples. We seriously had so much fun. When do family activities with tiny tazmanian devils actually go better than expected?! Admission is $7 for adults, and free for kids 3 and under. Kids get coupons for free face painting and mini train rides as well as a chance at the "Apple slingshot." Hubs and Bear hit the special target on the Apple slingshot so they won a whole peck of SweeTango apples (worth $34). We bought a half dozen donuts for $4 ...
