The Red Sox star is one of the best in Baseball! With January winding down and Spring Training on the horizon it’s time for MLB Network to unveil their position-by-position rankings of players headed into the 2018 season. To nobody’s surprise, Mookie Betts made the list! As the third best right fielder in the game, behind only the recently united Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton of the New York Yankees . Considering only one of the pair can actually man right field in the Bronx, carrying over Stanton’s position eligibility from his days on the Marlins really puts Mookie closer to second best right fielder, among those who man the position every day, in Baseball. Coming off a “down” year that saw him hit .264/.344/.459 and finish sixth in AL MVP voting, Betts will be looking to remain the best Red Sox position player. During the MLB Network countdown show, Cliff Floyd , himself a former Red Sox outfielder said “When you watch Mookie Betts play the game…he’s not a big guy, he doesn’t look that powerful, but he has some of the quickest hands that the game has seen in a long time – since Gary Sheffield.
