Tag yourself I'm the Orc, remove yourself from my swamp, please pic.twitter.com/8xfkc7L18h — Fall Guys (@FallGuysGame) October 7, 2020 The four costumes are very much in keeping with the new Season’s fantasy theme. The first of the outfits revealed is that of a stereotypical orc. The second reveal is a horse in a full jousting get-up. The third is a jester and the fourth and final is a princess. It’s unclear how players will receive these outfits, but it’s likely to be through the Season rewards. With Season One ending as Season Two begins, Fall Guys is offering players double fame points (experience points) for the remainder of the first season. This is undoubtedly to help players reach level 40, therefore unlocki ...

It was earlier this year at GamesCom when we get the reveal for a new game, Unknown 9: Awakening . Set in India, it follows a young girl who discovers that she has powers. Not much else is known about the game, and you can see the brief teaser we got through here , but it seems the developer has impressed someone at Bandai Namco enough to become part of the team. As announced on Reflector Entertainment’s official website, they have officially been acquired by the Japanese company. Apparently, it is part of a western based expansion from Bandai Namco. Reflector is a relatively young studio, only being formed 2016 to work on projects related to “Storyworlds,” a sort of multi-media universe that includes books, comics and podcasts. Unknown 9: Awakening was to be the latest entry in that. In fact, this is actually their first game. Unknown 9: Awakening was announced to be coming to PC and “next generation consoles,” though as of now we have no time frame for when to expect it. ...

Indie Round-Up It’s been a bit of a somber week in indie gaming as the tail end of GamesCom wrapped up (find some of the best indie news from GamesCom HERE ) and some beloved indie studios ran into trouble, with one beloved publisher shutting down entirely. On the bright side, there have been a couple of neat trailers released for some hotly anticipated titles and they are looking better (and closer) than ever. Let’s check it all out! Skullgirls Studio Work Culture Issues Come to a Head Over the past couple of months, things at Lab Zero Games became quite tense as sexual assault allegations were made regarding the studio’s owner and co-creator of Skullgirls Mike Zaimont back in July. Then, this past August 24th staff began resigning, citing a toxic work culture perpetuated by Zaimont. Several of the resigning staff posted testimonials on Twitter recounting Zaimont’s inappropriate behavior and their request for his resignation. Zaimont refused and gave staff members unhappy with the decision until August 31st to leave, which several did on August 24th. Shortly thereafter, Skullgirls IP holder Autumn Games and developer Hidden Variable (who works on the Skullgirls mobile port) made an official statement distancing themselves from Lab Zero Games and Zaimont specifically. Earlier this week, Zaimont laid off the remaining studio staff, claiming in an email to Kotaku that: “Unfortunately, Lab Zero was forced into layoffs because we w ...
The next free Sea of Thieves update, titled Vaults of the Ancients, is coming on Wednesday, September 9. Last week at GamesCom, we learned a few details about the next update, which will finally allow you to have dogs as pets, but now we have a much fuller picture. In addition to our new furry comrades, The Vaults of the Ancients update adds a new permanent voyage for Gold Hoarders and a couple of updates that should make the pirate life a little easier. Foremost among the quality of life updates is a new option that lets you adjust the banners that appear at the top of the screen as you're approaching islands. If you find them a little intrusive for your tastes, you can slim them down and have your ammo and health bar in-view at all times. Or, if you want to be rid of them entirely, you can now do that as well. ...
Another GamesCom has come and gone and still no mention of From Software’s ill-fated Elden Ring . Sigh. For those of us who love the Souls series and George R.R. Martin’s deconstructive fantasy style, we must wait a little longer for news tidbits. However, if you’re simply a fan of great games, you’ll have enjoyed an embarrassment of riches at GamesCom 2020. The PlayStation 5 is shaping up to be the home of the best gaming experiences of the next generation, so without further ado, let’s take a look at the best PS5 games announced during GamesCom. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Finally, we got a look at some proper Rift Apart gameplay footage during GamesCom, and it looks truly excellent. Insomniac is bringing its signature over-the-top shooter style to bear on Rift Apart , which looks like it’s going to be yet another excellent entry into a venerable series. The new Rift system - which allows you to rocket across the screen and shows off the PS5’s graphical capabilities into the bargain - won’t come with any loading screens, which is pretty astonishing. What’s more, it’ll launch during the PS5’s launch window! Yay! Dragon Age 4 There are very few gaming studios that could show off less than ten seconds of gameplay footage and announce a title with a behind-the-scenes mini-documentary, but that’s exactly what BioWare did with Dragon Age 4 . Although we don’t know too much about the actual game yet, what we have seen has us massive ...

She may also get revenge on those who took her life, but will the price of that revenge be worth it? Wonhon: A Vengeful Spirit is set to launch on Steam sometime in the first quarter of 2021. Zelter Zelter throws you into a world reeling from an apocalypse of the dead! It mixes a cute pixel art visual style with a bit of upbeat music. Plans are being made for a return to an in-person GamesCom show in Cologne for 2021. The enormous games show last year squeezed 373,000 people into Cologne's cramped convention centre. Social distance, you could not. 2020's physical event was scrapped, and effectively replaced with a miasma of online announcements lead by Geoff Keighley's Opening Night Live show last Friday. Two million people tuned in to watch that from the comfort of their own homes. Read more ...

This year has been full of game announcements happening digitally, but this type of game reveal is nothing new to the annual GamesCom event. Many are used to catching this event live instead of in person and I have to say it was nice to have a sense of regularity in these times of unusual and creative gaming announcements. That being said, GamesCom 2020 has been full of indie game reveals and updates that you should definitely be excited for! Little Nightmares II Continuing the strange world where we play as the small, yellow-raincoat wearing girl named Six and try to escape the dangerous oddities that try to entrap us. Bandai Namco has revealed not only the official release date of February 11, 2021 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch - with the added bonus that those who purchase on PS4 or XB1 will get a free next-gen upgrade for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X - but they have also revealed the story in a new story reveal trailer. Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood Bringing out a new light to the Werewolf: The Apocalypse series, NACON and Cyanide presented us with a trailer featuring Cahal. Showing off both his life and past of our protagonist werewolf of the Fianna tribe. Witness the tragic fate that forced this married father into exile just to keep those he loves safe from his own rage. There still isn’t a release date, but we know it will eventually launch on PS4, PS5, XB1, and XSX sometime in 2021. Remother ...

His months-long event came to a head today with Opening Night Live, the opening event for GamesCom, the world’s biggest gaming showcase. Check out the pretty cool and new characters filled GamesCom trailer for Scarlet Nexus, coming to current and next-gen in 2021. Bandai Namco published a new trailer for Scarlet Nexus at GamesCom: Opening Night Live 2020. Protagonist Yuito Sumeragi and his psionic powers are heavily featured in the trailer, alongside characters we haven’t seen yet. They fight together against the Others, the invaders from the sky. In particular there’s a pretty cool new female character who can seemingly clone herself with her psychic powers. The trailer also features new types of Others, and teases some kind of super form Yuito will unlock at some point. You can find the trailer right below. We also have profiles for all the characters translated and screenshots below. ...

Jen and Lindsay Sitting in a Tree – K-I-L-L-I-N-G At GamesCom this week, we got a look at a ton of games including the upcoming Remothered: Broken Porcelain. The new trailer appears to be a story trailer, as it does not show any gameplay and focuses on the relationship between the protagonist Jennifer and her new friend Lindsay. Broken Porcelain serves as a prequel to Remothered: Tormented Fathers, focusing on Jennifer and filling in the gaps left by the mystery of Celeste Felton’s disappearance in the first game. Jennifer goes to Flemmington Girls’ Institute, but is sent to the Ashmann Inn to work as a maid, where she meets Lindsay. The two work at the Ashmann Inn as a sort of punishment. They become quick friends, and as the new trailer suggests, they also form a romantic relationship. As the trailer becomes more grim and scary, little clips and hints are dropped that players of the first game will recognize as connecting images. We also see Rosemary Reed, who was the protagonist of the first game, in some troubling scenes. One of the villains of the first game, the Red Nun, is also seen, so we can expect to encounter her, unfortunately. Now is about the time we were supposed to get our hands on Remothered: Broken Porcelain, but it ended up being delayed by a couple of months . Broken Porcelain will be out on October 20th for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Are you looking forward to the second Remothered game? Let us ...
Playing Both Sides We know that Star Wars: Squadrons is going to center around the space combat. There are many different kinds of ships for players to fly and each of them can be customized in their own way to the players’ specifications. There will no doubt be a ton of online battles between players, but to really immerse yourself in the game, you may want to really put yourself in the pilots’s shoes, not just the cockpit. At GamesCom this week, EA showed off the Star Wars: Squadrons single player mode. In a brief gameplay preview, the trailer starts off as rebel scum propaganda! We hear a Carrie Fisher soundalike establishing a timeline of the game, setting it after the events of Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. As the Empire keeps up its fight against the New Republic, it points to the conflict that Episode VII: The Force Awakens finds itself in, though that may be some years off. We then hear from Susanne Hunka, the narrative producer for the game. She explains that players will be taking on two different roles during the single player portion of the game. Players will be given a taste of life in the Empire and in the New Republic, playing missions as respective pilots. There will also be opportunities between missions to interact with other pilots in the game, to get more of a sense of what they are all fighting for. Something interesting in the trailer is a message at the bottom of the screen at select moments that says “ ...

The brand new Cahal trailer unearths game protagonist Cahal’s past. As you may have guessed, Cahal is a werewolf, and he belongs to the Fianna tribe. Cahal is also a father who was forced into exile. Now, he must flee those he loves just to protect them from his own rage! His family includes his wife, Ludmila, and his daughter, Aedana. He is also trying to protect his best friends, Ava and Rodko, who are always there for him. The game is set to launch for PC (Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X on February 4th, 2021. Here is the brand new Cahal trailer: In the world of Werewolf: The Apocolypse – Earthblood , the antagonist is Endron, a petroleum subsidiary of a mega corporation know as Pentex. All of Cahal’s seething rage and violence stems from these evil, destructive corporate titans. Not only did they destroy his life, resulting in a deep grudge, but they also continue to be a serious threat to Mother Earth. Cahal seeks to end them in any way that he can! Werewolf: The Apocolypse – Earthblood is adapted from the horror franchise. The press release describes it as “mature, brutal, and complex”. Cahal will play a pivotal role in the great war against Pentex, a war led by Garous. Here are a few screenshots showing the game in action: The post Werewolf: The Apocaly ...
If you had a problem with some of the levels in Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy , better buckle up for Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time . During its presentation at GamesCom, Lou Studdert, one of the developers working on the game, focused on a new group of levels designed to push players to their limit. These new flashback tape levels are a first for the Crash franchise. In a way, they’re similar to other challenge stages you’d find inside any level in the original Crash titles, although there is one caveat. To access these levels, players will have to search levels for VHS tapes, but, if you die on the level, they won’t appear at all. There’s already a bit of a skill barrier to break through in just getting to these levels, but playing them is another story altogether. Flashback tape levels throw players back to the origin story of Crash and Coco. In these devious levels, the Bandicoot siblings are under the ownership of Neo Cortex, who, if you don’t remember, originally created the two to lead his mutated animal army. These levels are Cortex testing the pair, and they are downright nefarious. Flashback levels will be long stretches of difficult platforming. From what’s been shown at GamesCom, players can pretty much forget about floors, since there don’t seem to be many. Instead, they’ll have to rely on their ability to hop from one crate to the next, all while avoiding nitro and TNT boxes. Some new crates are being added ...
