In-house battery cases , proprietary audio formats and new Beats Radio stations aren't the only things on Apple's mind. After launching Apple Pay a little more than a year ago, the Cupertino tech giant is looking to make an even deeper push into the payments space. According to a patent filing unearthed by Quartz , Apple users may soon be able to make payments to one another directly through iMessage. Presumably an attempt to compete with the likes of Square, Venmo, Snapchat, Facebook Messenger, and many more, the patent shows a "Make Payment" button in iMessage that would likely utilize the banking and credit card information a user stores in Apple Pay.
