Ten months after winning the 2A state championship, the Manti Templars are back making a splash in the Utah Basketball ranks — but for a different reason. Templar guard Derek Wright buried a 70-foot buzzer-beater in Manti's win over Millard last week. The shot gave Manti a 12-point halftime lead, 46-34. "It was all luck," he said. Wright, a reigning second-team All-State selection, finished the game with 16 points and six assists.
