SALT LAKE CITY — Skyline Football coach Zac Erekson likely rolled out of bed a bit later on Saturday than usual, with a hoarse voice and the need for probably even some sleep. But overriding all conditions and emotions was a feeling of happiness over what his players accomplished the night before in securing a 28-27 overtime win over Hurricane. The Eagles made the five-hour trip down to Hurricane on Friday, leaving at 9 a.m. for a matchup with the Tigers. Despite the uncommon road trip, Erekson's team came out strong and was poised to cruise to victory after building a 20-0 lead through three quarters of play. But it was then that the wheels started to fall off. The Tigers managed 20 fourth-quarter points to send the game into overtime, leaving Erekson a bit anxious regarding his team's ability to respond. "It was like a bad dream watching them score and then tie it up in that fourth quarter," Erekson said. "But we had to give a bit more, so I told (my players), 'We sat on a bus for five hours to get here, and we certainly can give a little bit more to pull it out.' That's what I told them and I think they responded pretty well." Hurricane led off the overtime period with a touchdown on a 1-yard run from Joe Armijo to go up 27-20 after a successful extra point.
