Why the 49ers should trade down from the number 2 overall pick

As we move closer to the 2017 NFL draft, there has been a lot of speculation about who the San Francisco 49ers might or should take with their hard-earned, number 2 overall pick. Sure, DE Solomon Thomas from Stanford has a lot of pro potential, graded well at the combine and is projected as a possible top-5 selection with several analysts predicting him going at number 2 to the 49ers; but he is by no means a sure thing and may be overvalued as a number two pick. In a draft without sure-fire prospects other than Garrett, it might make sense to have more picks rather than fewer, higher ones.
