But who are the 10 best to have played for the franchise since it moved to Texas in 1972? Gerry Fraley of SportsDayDFW.com and The Dallas Morning News offers his top 10 and the reasons why: 10. Kenny Rogers Most durable arm in franchise history. In 12 seasons (1989-95, 2000-02, 2004-05) worked as a reliever and a starter. Led American League in appearances with 81 in 1992. Had more than 200 innings as a starter five times. Produced first perfect game by a left-hander in AL history, against California on July 28, 1994. Club all-time leader in appearances by a pitcher with 528 9. Rafael Palmeiro In 10 seasons (1989-93, 1999-2003) with the club, hit .290 with 321 home runs and 1,039 RBIs. Received votes in Most Valuable Player balloting five times in that span, finishing eighth in 1993. Like several teammates of this era, accused of the use of performance-enhancing substances. 8. Buddy Bell Had four All-Star appearances and six Gold Gloves at third base during eight seasons (1979-85, '89) with the Rangers. Was often the lone saving grace during some dark seasons for the franchise. 7. Michael Young With Rangers from 2000-12 and finished career in '13 with Philadelphia and Los Angeles Dodgers.
