The Yankees made easy work of the Astros Monday night at Yankee Stadium, as they continued the trend of home teams winning this postseason. Yikes. Lance Jr. made two starts against the Yankees this year and the one at Yankee Stadium, back on May 12 , was particularly good: six shutout innings, seven strikeouts. He has not pitched at all this postseason, so his last outing was 17 days ago. Sonny Gray, who the Cubs were also reportedly scouting, was acquired by the Yankees at the trading deadline and posted 11 mostly-good starts for them. His one postseason start, in Game 1 of the division series against the Indians , not so good: three hits and four walks in 3⅓ innings. His one start vs. the Astros this year, June 20 while he was still with the A’s, wasn’t so good either: five innings, seven hits, four walks, five runs. So this pit ...
