BEGINNINGS

One man, one kayak and paddle, Cutting through the early morning stillness, With each pull, inches turn into feet as Windows open, Fresh, clean, vibrant air forces its way into your nostrils, The smells of autumn permeate, Crisp, lifeless leaves fallen suddenly from their place of origin, A bonfire with smoke swirling to the heavens, The smell of s’mores lingers, Tiny scents off summer are now replaced with approaching decay, Yet the beauty of this season is most glorious, A majestic array of God’s colorful palette, dabbled across the landscape, A sea of geese flies overhead in pursuit of warmer winds and peaceful valleys, We look at autumn and see the ending of things, but Really it is just the start.
