Beloved Announcer Vin Scully Returns To Dodger Stadium To Throw Out First Pitch

via Mediaite: Baseball is just the absolute coolest. No other sport delivers the kind of moments — the kind of emotional wallop — that Baseball can and does, when it’s at its best. Enter Vin Scully — the legendary broadcaster who retired last year after 67 seasons behind the mic for the Brooklyn and then Los Angeles Dodgers. Scully made his way out on to the Dogders Stadium diamond on Wednesday prior to Game 2 of the World Series with a microphone in his hand. He was, of course, greeted with raucous cheers. Scully was (jokingly) going to throw the first pitch. But he instead demurred on that task, and allowed former Dodgers pitching great Fernando Valenzuela to make the toss. No matter. The joy was hearing Scully — one of our nation’s great storytellers — speak extemporaneously for five minutes and dazzle the fans, as he’s done for nearly seven decades. The broadcast legend concluded his remarks with the words he spoke at the outset of every broadcast “It’s time for Dodger Baseball!” Scully said. video via MLB and FOX ...
