Cory Snyder in Middle of Playoff Controversy in Taiwan

Source: myworldofbaseball.com --- Wednesday, October 18, 2017
The Brothers Baseball Club have set their playoff roster for their first round playoffs against the President Lions. Five of their top players are missing from their roster. It has been rumored that these five players were not happy with the more strict American style of management of Cory Snyder. The Brothers are spinning it, explaining they are looking for more speed and defense in the playoffs. The winner of this first round will play the Lamiga Monkeys, who won both halves of the pennant race. If the Brothers advance there would be no reason to change the roster. If they do not advance there will be criticism of leaving five of their top players off their roster and the future of Snyder will be called into question. The names of those players are clean up hitter Lin Chih-Sheng, ex-Red Sox AA prospect Chiang Chih-Hsien, All Star outfielder Chang Cheng-Wei, seven time Gold Glove winner Wang Sheng-Wei and Cheng Ta-Hung. The President Lions employed an American hitting coach Bill Springman but released him in the first half of the season after just three months. There were accusations that the communication was not good or that he was not a good fit for the players on the roster. It will be interesting to see if Snyder survives if the Brothers do not advance in the playoffs. ...
