World Series Game 1: Dodgers vs. Astros, game time, TV info and starting pitchers

The World Series returns to Southern California for the first time in 15 years on Tuesday, but the opener between the Dodgers and the Houston Astros isn’t going to be ideal Baseball weather. There’s a chance it will be the hottest World Series game on record. There will be an excessive heat warning in Los Angeles when the game begins at 5:09 p.m., with a forecast between 95 and 97 degrees at first pitch. According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, that would push this game to the top of the list. The hottest game-time temperature for a World Series game – any postseason game, in fact – was 94 degrees for Game 1 between the Arizona Diamondbacks and New York Yankees on Oct. 27, 2001. While the Diamondbacks typically play with the Chase Field roof closed under such conditions, Major League Baseball decreed the roof stay open, as is required for jewel events such as the All-Star Game or World Series. Will the adrenaline rush of a World Series opener combined with the weather lead to early fatigue for some? Will players dial themselves back during warm-ups? Beyond the players, will it sap some of the energy from the 55,000 fans who might find these conditions far from ideal?
