Chat: How do Detroit Tigers stack up against division foes heading into spring training?

Fangraphs.com projects the AL Central Division to be the tightest from top to bottom of any of the six divisions. The American League Central Division does not appear to be the best in Baseball. But it certainly could be the most competitive. With about two weeks remaining until spring training, how do the Tigers stack up with their Central Division foes? We will be here from noon to 1 p.m. today in an attempt to answer that question and any others you might have regarding the Tigers and the upcoming season. General manager Al Avila has drawn praise from Baseball watchers across the country for the moves he made to improve the roster this offseason. Certainly the additions of Jordan Zimmermann, Justin Upton et al make the Tigers a better team than they were when they finished the 2015 season with a 74-87 record. Fangraphs.com projects the AL Central Division to be the tightest from top to bottom of any of the six divisions . Their current projected standings for the Central Division: * 84-78: Indians * 82-80: Tigers * 81-81: White Sox * 79-83: Royals * 77-85: Twins The Indians have the best rotation in the division and one of the best in the majors, but they have some serious holes in their lineup, so first place could be a tough task. With that said, the Indians won 81 games last season and had a run differential (plus-29, fifth in AL) that implied they could have easily won more, so 84 wins might not be a huge stretch.
