Houston can't close out the series against Boston on Sunday. Baseball is a game of inches. The Houston Astros learned that on Sunday at Fenway park. The Boston Red Sox survived for another game with a 10-3 victory that was sparked by a home runs from Rafael Devers and Jackie Bradley Jr. The Astros appeared to be once again breaking open the game early against the Red Sox. After an RBI single from Josh Reddick and a two-run home run to dead center from Carlos Correa put Houston up 3-0 in the first inning. Reddick nearly put the Astros put 6-0 after Doug Fister was knocked out early in the second inning. A long fly ball to the right field corner was caught by Mookie Betts. Inches away from a home run. But the Astros didn't score another run in the game and the Red Sox were able to get to Brad Peacock early. The Red Sox scored three runs with two outs including a two-run home run by Devers off Francisco Liriano . The Red Sox would get six runs in the sixth inning after Lance McCullers gave up two hits to start the inning. A three-run home run by Bradley went off Reddick glove in right field. One home run was caught by Betts and another fought its way to the seats past Reddick. It was a game of inches. That said the 6-run inning didn't matter, because David Prince and McCullers were able to come out of the bullpen to shut down both offense for 3-plus innings.
