Beltran to interview for manager opening; Cashman is Baseball America’s Executive of the Year; Thomson to interview for Phillies bench coach position; Yankees playoff shares released; Scouting the top Ohtani destinations CBS : The Yankees still don’t have a manager. They’re the only team in Baseball that doesn’t, so they’re taking their time with the search. The Yankees had interviewed five candidates so far, and are now officially accepting resumes again. The next name on the list will apparently be recently retired Carlos Beltran . The Yankees will get close to 10 candidates before announcing two or three finalists and then settling on the next manager. Tyler Norton’s already booked his ticket for the Beltrain . Baseball America | George King : Brian Cashman has done a lot to turn this organization around over the last couple years. This is why he’s been named Baseball America’s MLB Executive of the Year. He orchestrated one of the fastest turnarounds in Baseball history having the Yankees go from sellers in 2016 to contenders and buyers in 2017. Fire Cashman though. New York Post | George A.
