Vintage Baseball Festival Begins Nov. 10 at Ballparks

  Press Release   BRANSON, Mo. – An exciting, family-friendly festival is coming to the Ozark Mountain region that celebrates America’s favorite pastime. In collaboration with area residents, business owners, and other community stakeholders, the Vintage Base Ball Association (VBBA) will be joining the Branson community to “preserve, perpetuate, and promote the game of base ball as it was played during its formative years in the nineteenth century and other historic eras.” The Inaugural Legacy Days Vintage Base Ball Festival will be held on Friday, November 10 at Ballparks of America, and Saturday, November 11 thru Sunday, November 12 at Branson RecPlex. With over 200 vintage base ball clubs in existence today, the men’s VBBA teams from across America will travel to compete against local Branson men who have teamed up for fun, fellowship and a demonstration of the history of Baseball dating back 160 years. Vintage base ball has become a favorite pastime of its own, with today’s teams competing in period reproduction uniforms and authentic equipment, and following 19 th century base ball rules in order to accurately present the history of Baseball to the public.
