At GamesCom’s digital showcase this year, Frontier Developments revealed that a Nintendo Switch version of Jurassic World Evolution is coming. Jurassic World Evolution: Complete Edition drops this November, and the team has gone into more depth on how the Switch version works. In short, it looks like a pretty good port. Matt Simpler, the head of technology at Frontier Developments, and Richard Newbold, the game director on Jurassic World Evolution: Complete Edition, go over what’s included on Switch. All paid story content is there (we’d hope so), including the story DLC based off the original films. Extra dinosaur packs are […] The post Jurassic World Evolution on Switch shown off in developer spotlight video appeared first on Nintendo Enthusiast . ...

It’s also the most accessible games event in Asia and a great place to meet all the big names from the Asia-Pacific games scene. If you aren’t looking at the Asia markets then you’re missing a lot of opportunities. The Asia-Pacific markets repres... ...
It was earlier this year at GamesCom when we get the reveal for a new game, Unknown 9: Awakening . Set in India, it follows a young girl who discovers that she has powers. Not much else is known about the game, and you can see the brief teaser we got through here , but it seems the developer has impressed someone at Bandai Namco enough to become part of the team. As announced on Reflector Entertainment’s official website, they have officially been acquired by the Japanese company. Apparently, it is part of a western based expansion from Bandai Namco. Reflector is a relatively young studio, only being formed 2016 to work on projects related to “Storyworlds,” a sort of multi-media universe that includes books, comics and podcasts. Unknown 9: Awakening was to be the latest entry in that. In fact, this is actually their first game. Unknown 9: Awakening was announced to be coming to PC and “next generation consoles,” though as of now we have no time frame for when to expect it. ...

Indie Round-Up It’s been a bit of a somber week in indie gaming as the tail end of GamesCom wrapped up (find some of the best indie news from GamesCom HERE ) and some beloved indie studios ran into trouble, with one beloved publisher shutting down entirely. On the bright side, there have been a couple of neat trailers released for some hotly anticipated titles and they are looking better (and closer) than ever. Let’s check it all out! Skullgirls Studio Work Culture Issues Come to a Head Over the past couple of months, things at Lab Zero Games became quite tense as sexual assault allegations were made regarding the studio’s owner and co-creator of Skullgirls Mike Zaimont back in July. Then, this past August 24th staff began resigning, citing a toxic work culture perpetuated by Zaimont. Several of the resigning staff posted testimonials on Twitter recounting Zaimont’s inappropriate behavior and their request for his resignation. Zaimont refused and gave staff members unhappy with the decision until August 31st to leave, which several did on August 24th. Shortly thereafter, Skullgirls IP holder Autumn Games and developer Hidden Variable (who works on the Skullgirls mobile port) made an official statement distancing themselves from Lab Zero Games and Zaimont specifically. Earlier this week, Zaimont laid off the remaining studio staff, claiming in an email to Kotaku that: “Unfortunately, Lab Zero was forced into layoffs because we w ...
The next free Sea of Thieves update, titled Vaults of the Ancients, is coming on Wednesday, September 9. Last week at GamesCom, we learned a few details about the next update, which will finally allow you to have dogs as pets, but now we have a much fuller picture. In addition to our new furry comrades, The Vaults of the Ancients update adds a new permanent voyage for Gold Hoarders and a couple of updates that should make the pirate life a little easier. Foremost among the quality of life updates is a new option that lets you adjust the banners that appear at the top of the screen as you're approaching islands. If you find them a little intrusive for your tastes, you can slim them down and have your ammo and health bar in-view at all times. Or, if you want to be rid of them entirely, you can now do that as well. ...
Another GamesCom has come and gone and still no mention of From Software’s ill-fated Elden Ring . Sigh. For those of us who love the Souls series and George R.R. Martin’s deconstructive fantasy style, we must wait a little longer for news tidbits. However, if you’re simply a fan of great games, you’ll have enjoyed an embarrassment of riches at GamesCom 2020. The PlayStation 5 is shaping up to be the home of the best gaming experiences of the next generation, so without further ado, let’s take a look at the best PS5 games announced during GamesCom. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Finally, we got a look at some proper Rift Apart gameplay footage during GamesCom, and it looks truly excellent. Insomniac is bringing its signature over-the-top shooter style to bear on Rift Apart , which looks like it’s going to be yet another excellent entry into a venerable series. The new Rift system - which allows you to rocket across the screen and shows off the PS5’s graphical capabilities into the bargain - won’t come with any loading screens, which is pretty astonishing. What’s more, it’ll launch during the PS5’s launch window! Yay! Dragon Age 4 There are very few gaming studios that could show off less than ten seconds of gameplay footage and announce a title with a behind-the-scenes mini-documentary, but that’s exactly what BioWare did with Dragon Age 4 . Although we don’t know too much about the actual game yet, what we have seen has us massive ...
Super.com recently unveiled trailers for three games at GamesCom 2020. Alongside the trailers, new details emerged for each of the three games. According to the Super.com press release, two of them are coming out this year, while the other is launching early next year. Wonhon: A Vengeful Spirit Wonhon: A Vengeful Spirit is a paranormal stealth action game. It tells a story of revenge that was inspired by both Korean culture and folklore. Players will take on the role of a young girl who possesses the supernatural powers of possession and stealth. They were given to her by Jeoseung Saja, the God of Death. Her home country has fallen to enemy soldiers who are killing locals. As a result, she must now use her ghostly powers to help the freedom fighters. She may also get revenge on those who took her life, but will the price of that revenge be worth it? Wonhon: A Vengeful Spirit is set to launch on Steam sometime in the first quarter of 2021. Zelter Zelter throws you into a world reeling from an apocalypse of the dead! It mixes a cute pixel art visual style with a bit of upbeat music. Players will need to scavenge for various supplies, craft vital tools, and start a farm to survive. It’s not all fun and games, though. Your home will need to be prepared for the coming storm. Prepare your defenses, keep your machine gun turrets loaded, and keep your eyes and ears on alert. It’s only a matter of time before the hordes come for y ...
Quantum Error New gameplay from GamesCom for Quantum Error is here to show off how far Quantum Error has gone and where it will still be heading It is always great to see when smaller studios as TeamKill Media can come out swinging with a cool looking title as they did with Quantum Error a while back. A nice little horror title that will be taking us into some of those dark depths of mind and space on the PS4 and PS5 when it launches. If you remember seeing Quantum Error the first time it made the rounds out there, then you are lucky and in for a bit more. If you missed out, then kick back and get ready to see where the next space horror title out there could be taking us. If it gets the fund and can move further along in the cycle than we see here. Here we go with some new gameplay for Quantum Error from an early build of the game. Some of you might be able to see that, but in the end, it is looking like it shaping up well with the lighting and tones that the game is aiming for here. This is all before any final animations or models are dropped too, so be sure to take that in when judging where Quantum Error is at right now. If it keeps up the progression, it could shape up to be a new version of Dead Space or something even better. Have a look and great ready for more of that dread to settle in for you. Quantum Error — GamesCom Teaser Quantum Error is a cosmic-horror first-person shooter currently in development by TeamKill M ...

Plans are being made for a return to an in-person GamesCom show in Cologne for 2021. The enormous games show last year squeezed 373,000 people into Cologne's cramped convention centre. Social distance, you could not. 2020's physical event was scrapped, and effectively replaced with a miasma of online announcements lead by Geoff Keighley's Opening Night Live show last Friday. Two million people tuned in to watch that from the comfort of their own homes. Read more ...

This year has been full of game announcements happening digitally, but this type of game reveal is nothing new to the annual GamesCom event. Many are used to catching this event live instead of in person and I have to say it was nice to have a sense of regularity in these times of unusual and creative gaming announcements. That being said, GamesCom 2020 has been full of indie game reveals and updates that you should definitely be excited for! Little Nightmares II Continuing the strange world where we play as the small, yellow-raincoat wearing girl named Six and try to escape the dangerous oddities that try to entrap us. Bandai Namco has revealed not only the official release date of February 11, 2021 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch - with the added bonus that those who purchase on PS4 or XB1 will get a free next-gen upgrade for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X - but they have also revealed the story in a new story reveal trailer. Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood Bringing out a new light to the Werewolf: The Apocalypse series, NACON and Cyanide presented us with a trailer featuring Cahal. Showing off both his life and past of our protagonist werewolf of the Fianna tribe. Witness the tragic fate that forced this married father into exile just to keep those he loves safe from his own rage. There still isn’t a release date, but we know it will eventually launch on PS4, PS5, XB1, and XSX sometime in 2021. Remother ...

As part of the Future Games Show, held this weekend as part of the GamesCom festivities, developer FYQD-Studio and publisher Playism released a new trailer for the upcoming hybrid action title Bright Memory: Infinite. The new video sees special agent Shelia receive a new mission from her agency, SRO, before tooling up and heading out of her apartment, ready to face off against another realm-breaking phenomenon. Arriving at the mission location in the midst of a violent electrical storm, Shelia grapples, slices, and shoots her way through a squad of enemies, before finally facing off against a frightening samurai-like villain - but where, (or when), did this ferocious opponent come from?
