Recap: Oregon State Baseball Finishes The Big Ten-Pac-12 Challenge Undefeated

A big day on the mound from Grant Gambrell propelled the Beavs to a 6-1 win. Oregon State Baseball is now 8-0 after yet another strong outing in Surprise. The Beavs defeated Ohio State for the second time in this event by a score of 6-1. Oregon State outhit Ohio State 10-6. In the following inning, the Oregon State picked up four more runs thanks to two-RBI hits from Steven Kwan and Cadyn Grenier. In the bottom of the fourth, Larnach kept it going with an RBI double that scored Cadyn Grenier. That would be the end of the scoring as Oregon State left 13 runners on base in this game. While the offense certainly did enough to get the job done, the real highlight today for the Beavers was the pitching. Grant Gambrell turned in a career day with 12 strikeouts, which was a career high and the most an OSU pitcher has thrown in a game this season. He went seven innings, allowed five hits, and did not walk a batter. Justin Britton closed out the final two innings allowing an unearned Buckeye run on a wild pitch and a base hit. He also struck one batter out. From a fielding perspective, this was a little bit of a sloppy game by both teams. Ohio State and Oregon State each committed three err ...
