Die Gaming-Branche boomt schon seit Jahren, aber spätestens seit der letzten Spielemesse GamesCom rücken jetzt auch die Gaming-Aktien immer mehr in den Vordergrund. Before GamesCom 2018, developer Buka Entertainment delayed Redeemer: Enhanced Edition and 9 Monkeys of Shaolin to fall 2018 and Winter 2019, respectively. That being said, Buka went quiet shortly afterwards, delaying both titles further into 2019. Fortunately, an official release for both of those titles as well as the console version of Ash of Gods seem to be on the horizon as Buka Entertainment officially announced their distribution partnership with Koch Media today. Koch Media is well known as the German parent company of Deep Silver, publisher of titles like Saints Row IV and Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Interestingly, Koch Media was acquired by the ever-growing THQ Nordic last year , so it seems that 9 Monkeys of Shaolin, Ash of Gods, and Redeemer: Enhanced Edition are just the latest titles to fall under THQ Nordic’s umbrella. Buka Entertainment seems pretty enthusiastic about finding a partner to handle physical and digital distribution of its three games, with PR Manager Artem Studenikin going as far as to say that this partnership will “exceed all expectations and help us to reach players around the world.” Koch Media Head of Communications Jörn Fahrbach also voiced his positive opinion on the partnership. “We are happy that Buka Entertainment chose us as a distribution partner. Their games fit perfectly in our portfolio, as they are offering multi-plaform titles for an attractive price,” Jörn said. “We all at Koch Media ...
A brand-new game in the Crackdown series was first announced at E3 2014. It wasn’t until a year later at GamesCom, that it was officially titled Crackdown 3 . Cloud computing was promised to take the series to new heights with improved physics modeling and rendering and a fully destructible city. Since then, the game has had its fair shares of ups and downs including two delays that had many gamers including myself wondering how the game would turnout. Now, almost five years after being announced, Crackdown 3 is finally here. The big question on gamer’s minds is, was it worth the wait? Well, that all depends in what you were expecting from Crackdown 3 . Crackdown 3 Platform: Xbox One Developer: Sumo Digital / Elbow Rocket Publisher: Xbox Game Studios Genre: Action-adventure Modes: Single-player, multiplayer ESRB Rating: M (Mature 17+) A new ruthless criminal empire threatens the world Crackdown 3 takes place approximately nine years after Crackdown 2, where a terrorist attack has caused a world-wide blackout. The Agency is resurrected and has traced the attack to New Providence—an island controlled by the mysterious Terra Nova organization and CEO Elizabeth Niemand. After the first wave of attacks by The Agency were unsuccessful, super-powered agents are deployed to take out Terra Nova. Having played both games in the series previously, I am happy to say that Crackdown 3 all but ignores the happenings of Crackdown 2. Compared to ...
It feels like a long time since I last got to try out New World, the upcoming survival MMO by Amazon. This is pretty true. I wrote my preview of the game from when I played it at GamesCom last year. In five months, a lot can change. In five months, the land of Eternum (I now know what it’s called!) has changed more dramatically than I could have imagined. Best of all, there are a few concerns I had that have already been answered. In particular, this is the content for more solo-oriented players. I’m the sort of person who likes to avoid the scourge that is human interaction. As such, MMO’s have always been a balancing act. I love a game that I can go out and explore and do things by myself, often things for the ever-immobile NPC’s. On occasion, I’ll work with other people for the greater good. I’ll help carry the load with my superior skills, allowing them to beat a huge enemy or area they otherwise wouldn’t be able to beat. New World doesn’t quite fit this bill, but it does offer a different way to go through the world by yourself. During the presentation prior to playing the game the devs from Amazon were keen to focus on areas where the world has improved, as well as how the game will be more inviting towards those who want more single-player opportunities. There are landmarks to explore either solo or with other players. You can, though it will be difficult, secure and own your own territory. Chances are you’d be losing it ...
Gamers play Electronic Arts Inc.’s (EA) Battlefield V computer game at the GamesCom gaming industry event in Cologne, Germany, on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2018. GamesCom is Germany’s largest congress revolving around digital games. (Photographer: Krisztian Bocsi/Bloomberg) photocredit: © 2018 Bloomberg Finance LP Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:EA) recently reported its Q3 fiscal 2019 results, which were below the street estimates. Net bookings were down in the high teens, due to lower than expected sales of Battlefield V, which will likely impact the company’s Q4 performance as well. Accordingly, the company lowered its full fiscal guidance, and the stock price dropped over 13% following the earnings release. Looking forward, the company’s full fiscal year 2019 earnings will likely decline in mid-single-digits, but should grow thereafter, led by the demand for live services, primarily FIFA and Madden Ultimate Team. We have created an interactive dashboard analysis ~ A Quick Snapshot of Electronic Arts’ Q3 Fiscal 2019 Performance And Trefis Estimates For The Full Fiscal Year . You can adjust various drivers to see the impact on the company’s overall earnings, and price estimate. Expect Net Bookings To Decline In High Single-Digits In Fiscal 2019 Electronic Arts’ overall revenues will likely decline in mid-single-digits, led by the Products segment, which has seen 25% decline in sales during the nine month period ending December 2018. One of the surprise demos I saw at last year's E3 and GamesCom was A Plague Tale: Innocence from French-based Asobo Studio. Set in the Middle Ages around the Inquisition and the Black Plague, the game features a sister and brother attempting to survive, and flee, one of the darkest periods in history. Today's video highlights the game-world Asobo has crafted for their adventure-stealth romp, which is utterly gorgeous and terrifying, both at once. This is the second video in a series (find the first one right here ), and highlights just how the team worked to craft such an iconic and dark period in history. After the first episode mainly focused on the young sibling protagonists Amicia and Hugo, Episode 2: âDark Agesâ takes us to the Middle Ages. Discover the process that went into forging a grounded, realistic world, set in one of the darkest hours of human history. The creative team at Asobo Studio explains their inspiration for the world they built - from visiting real French villages whose layouts, streets and buildings find their roots in medieval times, to taking cues from famous painters to craft the gameâs naturalistic lighting. The carefully crafted world serves to enrich the story and the characters, and contributes to creating this moving, emotional experience. Having seen the game up and running in person, I can say with confidence this is worth checking out and definitely worth keeping an eye on for its May 15 ...
