Loud Pinging / power loss 2017 CX-9

Source: www.mazdas247.com --- Wednesday, October 18, 2017
Anyone experienced LOUD pining and power loss intermittently on their 2.5T? Had the car for 5000km with no issues, last few days in SOuth Australia have been warm 33 degrees C so have been runniung A/C and car has four time at moderate throttle at lower revs emitted what seems to be a loud clicking sound from the front RHS (drivers side over here) and ECU pulls timing drops power off, fuel is BP 91RON. Reset your foot on the throttle and off she goes..... Mazda have plugged in with no obvious faults/codes. Today is much cooler and same thing occured when increasing throttle percentage gently to allow for increase in hill gradient, car clicking and revs stable but wouldn't increase. Turned the A/C off and haven't been able to get it to happen again.. Going to fill it with 98RON Premium and see if things are any different. Any similar issues/fix's would be appreciated. The second office for the UK-based consultancy will be lead by its international managing director Ian Pocock. Pocock joined the consultancy in 2008 as a managing consultant. Now the managing director of Transform for Asia Pacific, Pocock said it was an exciting move for the consultancy. “Having delivered real and impactful change for our many UK clients we are now mobilising to tackle digital, data and technology transformation on an international level. “Our expertise and unique approach will be really beneficial and relevant in the Australia and Asia-Pacific markets.” Transform has already secured its first client in Asia Pacific, the Australian Government Department of Education & Training. Emma Robertson, CEO of Transform, said in a statement: “Our extension into APAC follows a market analysis in which we spotted a gap for an end-to-end digital transformation service. “Whilst there is a healthy amount of competition in the consultancy and digital marketing worlds, we feel that Transform offers a more complete package. “We cover all areas – from technology and operations, to strategy and service design- ensuring that digital is in the very core of our clients’ business rather than on the side-lines or an afterthought.” Transform’s office will sit within Engine Group’s business intelligence compan ...

Nathan the Beach Cat Loves to Swim In the Ocean (No, Really!)

Source: people.com --- Wednesday, October 18, 2017
The cat is out of the bag (and into the ocean)! Not all felines are afraid of water. Nathan loves it! The female rescue kitten is charming Australia and the international audience of Instagram with her seaside posts. The black Queensland kitty loves playing, swimming and splashing in the ocean, and she shares the photos to prove it. Even though Nathan only started her Instagram account in September, she has already filled it with photos and videos of her ocean antics — posts that have helped her amass over 28,000 followers. Not bad for a baby cat. According to the Daily Mail , owners Rian and Melissa serve as Nathan’s lifeguards. The couple adopted the kitten earlier this year, after she was found abandoned in a box by a highway. At first, the owners kept Nathan indoors, but eventually decided she should be a part of their active lifestyle. Each time the family visited the beach, they allowed Nathan to try out her doggie paddle. Eventually, the kitten warmed up to the idea of swimming to the point where she doesn’t even hesitate when it’s time to dive into the surf. At this rate, Nathan will be a synchronized swimmer or expert sailor this time next year. ...

Closing in on Dark Matter

Cathal O'Connell , Cosmos Magazine One Saturday I hired a metal detector and drove four hours to the historic gold-rush town of Bright in Victoria, Australia, where my wedding ring lies lost, somewhere on the bed of the Ovens River. I spent the evening wading through the icy waters in gumboots, uncovering such treasures as a bottle cap, a fisher's lead weight and a bracelet caked in rust. I did not uncover the ring. But that doesn't mean the ring is not there. ...

Qantas and Virgin Australia agree to purchase renewable jet fuels from US companies

Source: http://ift.tt/1Adi6gz --- Wednesday, October 18, 2017
Tue 17 Oct 2017 - Qantas has announced that its flights from Los Angeles will be powered by biofuel from 2020 as a result of an off-take agreement with US bioenergy company SG Preston. The Australian airline says it will purchase 8 million gallons (30 million litres) of renewable jet fuel per year for a 10-year period. The fuel will be a 50/50 blend of conventional jet fuel and renewable fuel produced from non-food plant oils that is claimed to emit half the comparable amount of carbon emissions on a life-cycle basis. Last year, SG Preston entered into a similar off-take agreement with JetBlue in which the US carrier will purchase more than 33 million gallons of blended jet fuel per year for at least 10 years, with the renewable jet fuel portion making up 30 per cent of the total blend. Meanwhile, Qantas rival Virgin Australia has announced it will shortly start trialling the use of renewable jet fuel supplied by Gevo through Brisbane Airport̢۪s existing fuel supply system. ...

Google drones will drop burritos into people’s yards in Australia

Source: fox6now.com --- Wednesday, October 18, 2017
Watch Video Drones bearing piping hot burritos are about to start swooping down on the Australian countryside. At least, that’s the plan for Google affiliate Project Wing, which on Tuesday announced new tests of its drone delivery service with two Australian businesses, a Mexican taqueria chain and a drugstore company. It’s not the first time the Project Wing team has used drones to send people burritos. It did that last year with Chipotle at Virginia Tech University, but that was “in an open field, not to a specific address or location,” said James Ryan Burgess, one of Project Wing’s managers. Related: Domino’s delivers pizza by drone in New Zealand The Australian tests are taking place in a rural community near Canberra, the national capital, where residents “face a 40-minute round trip in the car for almost anything, whether it’s a carton of milk, veggies for dinner, or a cup of coffee,” Burgess said in a company blog post . Flying goods right into their yards is a great deal more complicated than navigating a field at Virginia Tech. “With each delivery, we encounter a new yard space with its own layout of trees, sheds, fences, and power lines,” Burgess wrote. Google affiliate Project Wing announced new tests of its drone delivery service with two Australian businesses, a Mexican taqueria chain and a drugstore company. The issues range from programming the devices to maneuver safely around obstacles like parked cars or outdoo ...
