So, yet again there’s news of new features that seem to be dedicated to Apple surface from the carriers, or rather carrier. Rogers (and Fido) in Canada announced they will make available WiFi calling for iPhones from ios9 onward. Yes, I know. Ios9 hasn’t been released yet. Rogers has also promised this before… for ios8. Didn’t happen. The WiFi calling they are talking about isn’t to save you money. Quote from Rogers “Rogers notes that while calls or texts may skip the cellular network completely in areas of poor cellular coverage, they will be deducted as normal from one’s monthly voice or text allotment. ” So now we know why it’s been announced for ios9. It’s Apples way of fixing their poor reception issues. ...
