Texans injury report: quarterback Brian Hoyer questionable with concussion

Source: blog.chron.com - Friday, December 25, 2015
Texans starting quarterback Brian Hoyer is officially listed as questionable on the injury report with a concussion. Hoyer also has a minor ankle injury. He’s remained under the NFL concussion testing protocol all week, practicing on a limited basis. Although Hoyer has made strides from his second concussion of the season, this one suffered against the New England Patriots, the team and Hoyer are proceeding cautiously with him. The Texans have prepped Brandon Weeden to start and he’s expected to play his second consecutive game after leading them to a comeback win over the Indianapolis Colts. If Hoyer is scratched Sunday, then B.J. Daniels would back up Weeden. Defensive end J.J. Watt was upgraded to full participation and is probable for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans with a broken left hand and groin injury. The Texans list starting defensive end Jared Crick as questionable with a back injury, but coach Bill O’Brien has said he expects him to play. The Texans officially ruled out wide receiver Cecil Shorts (hamstring) and safety Rahim Moore (illness). aaron.wilson@chron.com http://twitter.com/AaronWilson_NFL
