Source: www.theverge.com --- Friday, May 29, 2020
Image: Summer Game Fest Even though E3 , GamesCom , and other summer gaming events have become online-only or outright canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it seems there’s still going to be a lot of gaming news this summer. Publishers and media have already scheduled many digital events, promising news and announcements, which could help fill the void left by the loss of the big tentpole events. And it seems likely that some of these events will provide early looks at the first Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 games, making them particularly intriguing. To help you keep track of everything that’s planned, we’ve collected every event that we know about in this post. We’ve put together details about each event, when they’re scheduled to happen, and how to watch... Continue reading… ...

Con la demo de Desperados III he podido comprobar que los creadores del soberbio Shadow Tactics quieren revalidar título

Source: www.vidaextra.com --- Thursday, May 28, 2020

For those of you keeping count at home, that’s now BlizzCon, E3, GamesCom, GDC, and, at this rate, probably Xmas and next year too. Citing “health and safety considerations”, BlizzCon executive producer Saralyn Smith confirms the team’s “very difficult decision” in an update on the event website, but promises to make up for it with some sort of online thing instead (maybe even for mobile?). We’re feeling deeply disappointed about this decision, and imagine many of you will feel the […] The post BlizzCon is cancelled appeared first on NAG . ...

QPad QH-95 Gaming Headset Review

Source: technuovo.com --- Monday, May 25, 2020
It’s been a while since QPad have come across our desk. I last spoke to the team at GamesCom 2019, and checked out all their new product line for 2020. And now we’re nearly half way through this odd year, we’re starting to see the new QPad gear come out. So this is our review of the QPad QH-95 gaming headset. QPad have always retained a decent build with their peripherals, and it’s no different with the QH-95. The frame itself is made from aluminium, which feels very tough. I’ve stretched them around a decent amount, and sure, there was a couple of creaks, but I never felt like these headphones were going to break on me physically. The brackets that hold the earcups are also very sturdy. The earcups have around 30-degrees of movement, and the headset has a whole is very light. The headband is covered in a soft leather, and the underside is very padded, which made it very comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. The earcups are also covered in soft leather and made from memory foam, so the tension on the skull is kept to a bare minimum. They didn’t feel tight at all yet the memory foam hugged my head for some decent noise isolation. The earcups are also closed off – with massive QPad branding on them – which helps with sound leakage, although the soundstage isn’t as wide as open-backed gaming headsets, but more on the tech in a moment. To be honest, everywhere you look you’re going to be greeted with a QPad logo or symbo ...

Kerbal Space Program 2 is delayed until ‘Fall 2021’

Source: www.kitguru.net --- Sunday, May 24, 2020
Kerbal Space Program 2 was announced at GamesCom last year with an initial ‘early 2020’ release date. Before the year came to an end, the game was pushed back to ‘Fiscal Year 2021’, putting the release date in a April 2020 to March 2021 window. Now, things have taken another turn, with the developers pushing the game back further. This time, the news comes straight from the Kerbal Space Program 2 developers, rather than a Take-Two investor call. According to the statement from the dev team, COVID-19 is a key cause for the delay as it has presented “unique challenges”. Heads up Kerbonauts, we've a message from mission control for you. #KSP2 pic.twitter.com/aa1aTEloXG — Kerbal Space Program (@KerbalSpaceP) May 20, 2020 Now, Kerbal Space Program 2 is scheduled to release in Fall 2021, a fairly big push from the original release date announced just last year. The developers will be using this extra time to “iterate, create, test, and make KSP2 as great as it can be”. There is no word on if this delay will cause changes to the platforms the game comes to, as the Xbox Series X and PS5 will be out when the new release date rolls around. Previously, the game was confirmed for PC, Xbox One and PS4. KitGuru Says: With the current outbreak situation, delays like this are to be expected. Hopefully the Kerbal Space Program 2 team remains safe and can deliver a solid game later in 2021. ...

Last year, GamesCom drew more than 373,000 attendees to Cologne, Germany, during August, while Devcom drew about 3,000 professional game developers. I attended both events and moderated sessions at the sprawling Koelnmesse convention grounds. But the German government has prohibited such big events because of the coronavirus, and online is the only path forward. This year, GamesCom will start with Geoff Keighley’s Opening Night Live event on August 27 and continue until August 30, without the huge physical expo that it normally has had in the past. It will have an online-only format, with programming that will be announced at a later time, said Felix Falk, managing director of Game (the German game industry association), in an interview with GamesBeat.” NVIDIA’s AI Recreates a Version of Pac-Man Source: The Verge Artificial intelligence systems are starting to go past simply playing and mastering ga ...

Gamescom 2020's streaming-only showcase begins August 27

Source: www.destructoid.com --- Monday, May 18, 2020
Like every other video game expo this year, GamesCom had to either adapt to the pandemic or bail. That meant shifting from a physical gathering with way too many people in Cologne to a worldwide, all-digital event with "world premieres, news, games, and events." It also means a slight date change. This year, the digital-only GamesCom 2020 will run from Thursday, August 27 to Sunday, August 30. For our purposes, that first date is the one worth jotting down – that's when Geoff Keighley is returning to host the news-centric GamesCom: Opening Night Live show. It's tough to keep this stuff straight year to year, but we covered quite a few headlines from Keighley's 2019 presentation, including: Gears 5 gives us a very Mountain Dew trailer to kick off GamesCom Man, I really hope Predator: Hunting Grounds turns out well Pissing outdoors is great, here's a Death Stranding gameplay trailer Something about The Game Awards (and now Opening Night Live) gets us fired up. The rest of the schedule will be devoted to new streaming shows like Awesome Indies ("news about the most anticipated indie titles"), Daily Show (highlights), and the developer interview-focused GamesCom Studio. The award ceremony, GamesCom: Best of Show, will wrap things up on August 30. "Our digital concept is showing the way forward in the event landscape and many of the innovations will become an integral part of GamesCom in the years to come," Koelnmesse managing directo ...

Wasteland 3 will be the best Wasteland yet

Source: expansivedlc.com --- Wednesday, May 13, 2020
We already got some decent hands-on with Wasteland 3 back at GamesCom and found it to be a fantastic RPG. While it’s a shame that the game has been delayed until August, we’ve been able to spend even more time with it thanks to a new preview build and we’re loving it even more. All the things we appreciated from before are still relevant, but there’s something to be said about how accessible it all is, while remaining fiercely in-depth and customisable. Combat feels both strategic and satisfying, there’s lots of missions to dive into, and there’s a real biting wit and dark humour in the writing that makes all of this even more enjoyable. In that regard, Wasteland 3 falls somewhere between a Borderlands and a Fallout with the hyper eccentric characters, post-apocalyptic setting, and buckets worth of blood. Something I didn’t get to explore much before was the character creation and before setting out, in this case, the game wants you to select a character pairing. I draw attention to this, because it’s pretty unusual to have to customise two characters at the start, but there’s real advantages to it and it definitely sets the tone for what’s to come. For instance, there’s a Father & Daughter combination which gave me a proper Cormac McCarthy ‘The Road’ vibe, as the father is credited for his sneaky skills and melee combat, while his younger daughter is a proficient sniper, lockpicker and talker. Each character has their unique ba ...

The current context and the necessary anticipation of both the technical and logistical complexities of an event such as Paris Games Week have led us to cancel this edition. Ghostrunner me ha demostrado ser algo más que un Mirror's Edge con un John Wick cyberpunk

Source: www.vidaextra.com --- Wednesday, May 06, 2020
Source: www.pushsquare.com --- Wednesday, May 06, 2020

We're big fans of what we heard in the brief 55-second slice of action. The katana is also back to bring death and destruction to the human body, as the trailer likes to point out over and over again. Read the full article on pushsquare.com ...

Summer Game Fest promises four months of big news and events

Source: www.engadget.com --- Friday, May 01, 2020
E3 , GDC and GamesCom are not happening in their usual form this summer, complicating matters for developers and publishers who typically make big game announcements at those major events. They’ll have a new avenue through which they can reveal new titles and updates this year, though: Summer Game Fest. Geoff Keighley of The Game Awards (another major game-reveal event) is working with big-name platforms and publishers on the event, which will run until GamesCom: Opening Night Live on August 24th. Sony and Microsoft are both on board, with details about the latter’s involvement coming next week -- the company is set to showcase Xbox Series X gameplay for the first time on Thursday. But that’s not all. Keighley, who is acting as Summer Game Fest curator, revealed a string of major publishers who are taking part, including 2K, Activision, Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Blizzard, Bungie, CD Projekt Red, Digital Extremes, Electronic Arts, Square Enix, Private Division, Riot Games , Steam and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. And that’s just the first wave of confirmed participants. There’ll be plenty of news and surprises on the cards, along with in-game events. Some, including Steam and Xbox, will offer playable demos and trials. The summer edition of the Steam Game Festival will take place June 9th-14th, while Keighley and iam8bit are putting together a developer showcase of upcoming games. Details about other publishers’ events an ...
