Source: gamedayr.com --- Wednesday, November 25, 2015
Stedman Bailey, a third year receiver with the St. Louis Rams who is currently suspended by the NFL for a violation of the league’s substance abuse policy, was shot multiple times near a South Florida area home in the late hours of Tuesday night. Bailey was taken to an area hospital after being shot three times in the head while sitting in a car with several family members in the city of Miami Gardens. Officials say he is in critical, but stable condition and is expect to undergo surgery Wednesday to help with his injuries: Bailey grew up in the area, before becoming a star at nearby Miramar High School. He was a high school and college teammate (at West Virginia) of New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith. The Rams released a statement on the shooting: “We are aware Stedman Bailey was involved in an incident this evening. We have spoken with Stedman and he is in the hospital in critical, but stable, condition. We are gathering facts about the situation and will provide updates as we learn more.” Bailey has not spoken to the media since his four game suspension by the league for actions the receiver called “idiotic” and “disgraceful” during an apologetic message on social media.
