By 7 a.m. Thursday morning I was standing on the Football field in Dalhart, home of the Golden Wolves. This was the start of my 33rd — yikes, that’s a long time — DQ Tour for the Amarillo Globe-News. The DQ Tour is simply us here at the paper — writers Kale Steed and Lee Passmore, photographer Sean Steffen and correspondents Tyler Anderson and Steve Forrest — hitting the road and this year visiting around 55 high school Football teams.
