Following the announcement that the NHL is bringing hockey to Las Vegas , the coast is now apparently clear for other sports to do the same — at least, that’s what the Oakland Raiders think. After being denied the opportunity to move to Los Angeles by the NFL earlier this year, the Raiders have shifted their sights on sin city. Today, ESPN reports that the Raiders filed for three trademarks , trying to secure the rights to the phrase “Las Vegas Raiders.” The team also released artist renderings of their proposed $2 billion stadium, which is a joint venture of the Raiders, the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, and Majestic Realty Co. Harry Reid (D-NV).
