Alabama’s Julio Jones and Washington’s Lawyer Milloy to serve as honorary captains for the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl ATLANTA (December 31, 2016) – In keeping with its tradition of recognizing team celebrities prior to the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, officials today announced that Julio Jones and Lawyer Milloy will be honorary captains for their respective alma maters at the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl between No. 1 Alabama and No. 4 Washington. The duo will join the team captains at midfield for the pregame coin toss prior to the 3 p.m. kickoff on Dec. 31. Former Alabama standout wide receiver Julio Jones will serve as honorary captain for the Crimson Tide. Upon arriving at Alabama in 2008, Jones wasted no time making an impact, becoming the first freshman receiver to ever start a season opener for the Crimson Tide. From his freshman year on, Jones made his presence known in the SEC and across the country. During his three-year stint with Alabama, Jones helped lead the team to an SEC and BCS National Championship, while earning first-team All-SEC honors. He ended his Alabama career second in receptions (179) and yards (2,653) in school history and fourth in touchdown catches (15). Jones was selected by the Atlanta Falcons as the 6th overall pick in the 2011 NFL draft, where he has since earned four Pro Bowl selections, and a First-Team All-Pro honor in 2015. ...
