The Windows platform is losing another big app, both on Windows 10 and Windows 10 Mobile, as the UK Bus Checker application can no longer be downloaded by users on these platforms. And although the developer has not provided a reason — it’s not hard to imagine why they have decided to focus on Android and iOS. The company has pulled it in order to invest in other platforms that have more users. This is what the notification posted on the website reads: “Unfortunately, support for Bus Checker on the Windows Phone and Windows PC platform has now been discontinued. As of January 2017, the app is no longer available to download or restore from the Windows Store and will cease to function.” So, starting this month, the app will exclusively only be available on Android and iOS, the two platforms that are now ruling the mobile world. In the meantime, you can take a look at the application here on the Windows Store. This was another key app for Windows users, as it allowed them to keep track and get notifications of arrival information for buses across the United Kingdom. It did so with live information collected from the GPS receivers located inside each bus. Which was then displayed right within the main screen in the app. In any case, this is another major departure for the Windows operating platform, not just on mobile but PCs too.
