Source: http://ift.tt/Nq6kyc --- Tuesday, January 31, 2017
Apple’s new headquarter is almost complete, and ready for its employees to move in. New footage shows just how close Apple is to finishing its project, despite a few delays. Matthew Roberts released drone footage of Apple’s progress on the Apple Campus 2. The main building, which has been nicknamed the “Spaceship” due to its design, is almost complete with its glass walls, and solar panel roof. Roberts estimated that 70 percent of the solar panels have been placed on the roof. In this month’s video update, the research and development facility has been completed, and the front of the R&D now has pavement as well as lighting poles in the back of the building. The parking garages are completed and will be able to hold up to 8,000 vehicles once it’s fully operating. In addition, the auditorium where Apple will unveil and announce its new products and events is also completed. While most of the buildings are complete, the landscaping around them is currently in progress. Workers are planting several types of flowers and trees around the campus. Apple has also added a walking trail for its employee to exercise outdoors, and a fitness center for those who prefer to work-out indoors. The 2.8-million-square-foot center will be completed sometime this year, and home to more than 12,000 employees.
