South Kingstown senior Sam Kenyon was named the 2016-17 Gatorade Rhode Island Baseball Player of the Year on Tuesday. Kenyon, who is a pitcher and outfielder, led the Rebels to a 14-3 record, the No. 1 seed and a bye in the Division I playoffs, which start on Wednesday.The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Kenyon is 3-0 with two saves and a 1.71 earned run average in 16.1 innings pitched.
